POW-MIA Issues Are Real and Still With Us Today
On Sunday, July 11, 2010, Belvidere, NJ had the pleasure of receiving some very honored and distinguished visitors. The sound was loud, the numbers were large and the sight was wonderful to behold. Yes, I am referring to the annual gathering at the Warren County War Memorial of the Rolling Thunder.
For those of you who may be unaware, the Rolling Thunder® is a public awareness group whose mission is to publicize and educate citizens about read more…
Belvidere Green Has the Inside Scoop
The above reenactment of a Belvidere PTO meeting, held sometime in 2009, reveals their secret funding strategy for the fast approaching Science Expo. The names of the characters are different to protect the innocent.
It would seem that the PTO’ers have lobbied “Big Business” for close to a year and have received thousands of dollars in funding for this giant event. Clearly they will read more…

Have These PTO’ers Gone Too Far?
When ending my last post, I raised a simple question to the people involved with the Belvidere PTO which was, “What’s Next”? Well, I got my answer and it is BIG.
BelvidereGreen.com has obtained and verified documents pertaining to a massive undertaking which will take place on both June 2nd and 3rd of this year. This leaves very little time, for those read more…
If it’s been awhile since you visited the playground at the Third Street Elementary School, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. The One that Didn’t Get Away
Congratulations to Jerry Kauffman for landing a 4.1 lb trout and taking home the big prize at the 3rd annual Trout Fishing Tournament held on April 10th. For his efforts Jerry was handed a check for $300.00 from Belvidere Arts & Events, Inc. (Pictures and more details can be found on their site).
Now clearly these skilled fishermen know their business, because if my math is correct and you count the tie for 3rd place, Belvidere Arts & Events paid out a grand total of read more…
Want an Easter Egg?
Then the Annual Belvidere Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, March 27 is the event for you. Once again, thanks to the outstanding effort by the good folks at our local American Legion Post, area children will be able to seek out colorful hard boiled eggs to bring home for their hungry parents.
At 12:00 (noon), with their eye on winning a prize, the youngsters participating in this event will spend the first hour gathering at the Court House side of “The Green”, in order to shake hands and have their pictures taken with the famous charactors who come to greet and root them on. Then at 1:00 pm sharp, the little egg hunters, grouped read more…
Belvidere is no Harper Valley
Having seen the movie Harper Valley P.T.A. during my youth, I am well aware of how these organizations operate. Which is why upon finding out that the Belvidere PTO was sponsoring a Spring Clothing Drive it was immediately apparent to me, there had to be a catch.
So you can imagine my surprise when read more…
